ATTIRE:
During breakfast: the attire in the Cedar Room restaurant
(and the Ocean Grill during the summer months) is "casual".
Any clothing items may be worn, however, proper cover-up should
be worn over bathing suits. Please refrain from wearing hats.
During
lunch: bathing suits and other casual attire are perfectly acceptable,
since lunches are served poolside, at the Pool Bar or in the Coral
Reef Café, adjacent to the Pool Bar.
During
dinner:
Cedar Room restaurant - the attire is "smart casual"
every night. Men must wear collared shirts (t-shirts, including
designer collarless shirts, are not permitted). Children twelve
years and older are asked to adhere to the same guidelines. Anything
goes with regards to pants, shorts, skirts, jeans and footwear (flip
flops, sandals, sneakers, etc. are all acceptable). Please refrain
from wearing hats.
Ocean
Grill restaurant - the attire is "resort casual" every
night. T-shirts with writing on them are not permitted. Collarless
t-shirts with no writing/designs on them are permitted, although
collared shirts are suggested for men. Anything goes with regards
to pants, shorts, skirts, jeans and footwear (flip flops, sandals,
sneakers, etc. are all acceptable). Please refrain from wearing
hats.
BABYSITTING: Babysitters can
be arranged by contacting the front desk. A minimum of 24 hours
advance notice would be appreciated.
BEACH/POOL
TOWELS: Red & white striped
towels are available on the pool deck for your complimentary use
at the pool or beach.
BEAUTY/HAIR

Several hair salons are located only minutes away. Please contact

A variety of board games (i.e. - scrabble, checkers, chess, backgammon,

Bermuda has a very efficient, economical, island-wide bus system.
Schedules, bus tokens and transportation passes are available at
the front desk. Complimentary shuttle van rides are available to

Facilities are available for receptions or cocktail parties. Please
contact the front desk for more information.

11:00am - please let the front desk know if you have a late departing
flight. Occasionally you may be able to receive an extension on
your check-out time. If not, facilities are available inside the
fitness center for you to shower and change in before you leave.

OCEAN GRILL RESTAURANT: self-service continental breakfast featuring
coffee (de-caf and regular), assorted hot teas, milk, juices, sliced
fresh fruit, cereals, fruit yogurts, bagels, english muffins, croissants,
muffins and danish, is available from 7:00 - 10:00am daily. Dinner (featuring an a la carte menu) is served from 7:00 – 10:00pm daily. Dinner reservations are required. During slow time periods of the year, there may be nights that only one of the resort’s two main restaurants will be open for dinner.
CEDAR ROOM RESTAURANT: breakfast is served daily from 8:00
- 10:00am. Dinner is served from 6:30 – 9:00pm daily. Guests on the resort’s Modified American Plan do not need to make reservations in the Cedar Room. During slow time periods of the year, there may be nights that only one of the resort’s two main restaurants will be open for dinner.
CORAL
REEF CAFÉ: located adjacent to the pool bar. Lunch and
snacks are served poolside, outside on the oceanfront terrace or
inside the café, from 12:00 - 5:00pm daily.
ROOM
SERVICE: a continental breakfast can be served in your room
between 8:00 - 10:00am if you would prefer not to eat breakfast
in the Cedar Room Restaurant. Please place your order at the front
desk the evening before.
EMERGENCIES:
Please contact the front desk from 6:30am - midnight for any type
of emergency. From midnight - 6:30am, dial 9-234-0275 to contact
Larry Lamb, the General Manager. You may also dial 9-911 for police
or fire department assistance.
ENTERTAINMENT:

on the activities board in the lobby.

FERRY
SERVICE:
The Bermuda ferry system is an ideal way to visit Hamilton and see
other parts of the island from the water. Time schedules and transportation
passes are available at the front desk. The closest ferry stop to
Pompano is located at Rockaway (only a short distance away). Complimentary
shuttle van service to/from the ferry is always available.
FIRST
AID:
Minor first aid supplies are available at the front desk.
FISHING:
Bermuda's waters are renowned for their excellent sport fishing.
Both reef and deep sea fishing trips can be arranged at the front
desk. Excellent shoreline fishing is available from the resort's
private dock. Light tackle fishing rods and bait can be borrowed
from the front desk.
FITNESS
CENTER:
A cross-trainer, elliptical cross trainer, stairmaster, multi-faceted
weight station, stationary exercise bikes, treadmills, exercise
mats and selection of dumbbell weights are available for use on
a complimentary basis from 7:00 am - 11:00 PM in the fitness center
(located on the lower floor of the main clubhouse building - beneath
the Sunset Lounge).
FLOWERS:
Floral arrangements or corsages can be ordered through the front
desk upon request.
GAME
ROOM: Ping pong, pool and foosball (table soccer) can be played on a complimentary
basis in the game room (which is located on the floor beneath the
Ocean Grill restaurant) from 7:00am - midnight daily. A miniature
shuffleboard game, "Golden Tee" golf video game, "Extreme
Arcade" game system (with 50 legendary video games) and two
Play Station II video game systems are also available at no charge.
An assortment of Play Station II game cartridges can be borrowed
from the front desk.
GIFT
SHOP:
Post cards, stamps, candy, toiletries, cameras, film, suntan lotion,
art prints, resort logo clothing items and much more are available
for sale at the front desk. |
GOLF:
The
Robert Trent Jones designed Port Royal Golf Course is located right
next door, with the first tee only a five to ten minute walk from
the resort. Tee times may be arranged in advance by contacting the
front desk. Port Royal has a driving range, putting green, pro shop
and restaurant. The front desk can also help you arrange golf at
any other of the island's courses. Complimentary shuttle van service
to/from Port Royal Golf Course is always available.
GRATUITIES: A service charge (typically 10% of your nightly room rate) will
be charged to your account each day (covering service gratuities
for the restaurant breakfast and dinner waitstaff, bellmen and housekeeping
personnel). A 17% service gratuity is automatically added to all
food & beverage purchases (in lieu of tipping).
HOUSEKEEPING:
Cribs, rollaway beds, rubber bath mats and additional pillows, blankets
or hangers are available for use on a complimentary basis. Please
contact the front desk if you need any of these items. Your room
will be serviced daily between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm
You will also receive evening turndown service between the hours
of 7:00pm and 9:30pm (any soiled towels will be replaced with
clean towels and the covers on your bed will be turned down).
ICE:
Outdoor ice machines are located on the pool deck, on the backside
of the "Wahoo" building (next to the "Tuna Terrace"
building) and between the "Flying Fish" and "Angel
Fish" buildings. Bags of ice are also available at the front
desk.
INTERNET ACCESS:
A desktop computer and several laptop computers are available in the main lobby with broadband, high-speed internet service for guests to use on a complimentary basis to send and receive emails. Those who'd like to bring their own laptop computers with them will have complimentary wireless, high-speed internet access from the patios and balconies of their guest rooms, the entire main clubhouse building and the resort's beach and pool areas.
IRONS/BOARDS:
Each guest room has an iron and full-size ironing board. Please
do not place a hot iron on your carpeted floor or bedspread.
JACUZZIS:
Three outdoor heated jacuzzis are available for use twenty-four
hours a day. Two are located oceanfront, next to the game room and
the other is situated on the pool deck. Children under the age of
12 are asked not to use these facilities without adult supervision.
LATE
CHECK-OUT
ROOMS: Mens and ladies late
check-out rooms (furnished with showers, sinks, toilets and changing
areas) are located inside the fitness center. These facilities are
ideal for anyone departing on late afternoon flights.
LAUNDRY: A coin operated washer and dryer are located behind the "Wahoo"
building if you'd like to clean any of your own clothes. If you'd
prefer to have the resort handle your cleaning, please bring your
laundry to the front desk by 9:00am. It will be returned to your
room within twenty-four hours. Laundry bags and price lists can
be found in your room and at the front desk.
LENDING
LIBRARY:
A small collection of paperback and hard cover books are available
for your reading pleasure in the lower lobby entertainment hutch
(where the lobby area big screen television set is displayed). Your
assistance in helping to keep the book collection well stocked is
always appreciated.
LOST
& FOUND:
Please contact the front desk to inquire about an item that may
have been lost or misplaced.
LUGGAGE:
Please contact the front desk for any luggage handling or storage
requests you may have. The resort will be happy to store luggage
for late departing guests.
MAIL/MESSAGES:
Incoming mail, faxes and messages will be placed in your mail box
located at the front desk. A voice mail message will also be left
on your guestroom phone to advise you.
MASSAGES: "Serenity Spa" (located on the floor beneath the Ocean
Grill restaurant) is open from 10:00am - 6:00pm daily (10am -
3:00pm on public holidays, however, it is closed on Christmas and
New Year's Day). Advance reservations are recommended. Please dial
extension 218.
MOPEDS/SCOOTERS: Please contact the front desk for information and rental rates.
Complimentary transportation to/from "Oleander Cycles"
(located on Middle Road next to the resort's driveway entrance)
is available via the hotel shuttle van.
NEWSPAPERS: Complimentary copies of "The Royal Gazette" (the island's
most widely read newspaper) are available at the front desk on a
first come, first served basis Monday through Saturday mornings
(The Gazette is not printed on Sundays).
PHARMACY:

The closest ones are located in Somerset Village.

DEPOSIT BOXES:
Any valuables should be placed in a safety deposit box (provided
free of charge) at the front desk. The resort is not responsible
for items lost or missing from your guest room or any of the public
areas.
SCUBA
DIVING:
Several scuba diving operations are located nearby. Please contact
the front desk for more information.
SETTLING OF ACCOUNT: The resort
accepts cash (U.S. or Bermuda currency only), traveler's checks,
Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.
SHOPPING:
The capital city of Hamilton has a wide variety of shops and boutiques.
Most stores are open from 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
Dockyard and a few of the large hotels also offer shopping on Sundays.
From May through October, many of Hamilton's shops are open on Wednesday
nights until 9:00pm.
SHUTTLE
VAN:
Complimentary shuttle van rides are provided to/from the Rockaway
ferry stop, the nearby bus stops, Port Royal Golf Course, as far
east as the Bermuda Golf Academy (which has a driving range and
miniature golf course), as far west as Robinson's Marina (where
Blue Water Divers and the jet ski and Boston Whaler rentals are
located) and anywhere on the resort's grounds. A telephone at the
driveway entrance can be used to request a ride in from the road.
SIGHTSEEING TOURS:
Taxi tours of the island can be arranged by contacting the front
desk. Most tours are for a minimum of three hours.
SNORKELING:
Pompano's waterfront is one of the best areas for shallow water
snorkeling in Bermuda. Masks, fins and snorkels are available to
rent from the watersports center (open from early May to early October)
and from the front desk the rest of the year.
SWIMMING
POOL: A heated, fresh water pool is located oceanfront and is open twenty-four
hours a day. Children should be accompanied by an adult since there
is no lifeguard on duty. Styrofoam floating devices (known as "noodles")
are property of the resort and available for you to enjoy at the
pool or beach on a complimentary basis
TAXES: A 7 ¼% Bermuda government occupancy tax will be added to
your nightly room rate.
TELEPHONE
CHARGES:
Please refer to the phone face plate in your guest room for current
local and long distance rates or check with the front desk .
TENNIS:
A
clay court is available for you to use on a complimentary basis.
Court time should be reserved in advance at the front desk. Racquets
and balls can be borrowed from the front desk. Four all-weather
courts are located only a 500 yard walk from the resort, next to
Port Royal's 7th fairway.
VALET/DRYCLEANING:
Clothing needing to be dry cleaned should be brought to the front
desk. It will be sent off property and is usually returned within
48 hours, Monday -Friday.
VENDING: Soda machines are located adjacent to both the "Snapper Suites"
and "Tuna Terrace" buildings, as well as between the "Flying
Fish" and "Angel Fish" buildings.
VOICE
MAIL:
Your guestroom telephone is equipped with a voice mail messaging
service. Please refer to the instructions listed on the phone face
plate for message retrieval.
WADING
POOL: A 1 ½ foot deep wading pool (heated during the winter months)
is available for use on the pool deck on a twenty-four hour basis.
WAKE-UP
CALLS:
A clock radio (equipped with an alarm) is located on your nightstand.
Wake-up calls can also be placed with the front desk between 7:00am
and midnight, for the following morning.
WATERSPORTS
CENTER:
The dock watersports center is open (weather permitting) from 10:00am - 6:00pm daily, from early May to early October. Aquafin sailboats,
kayaks, windsurfers, rafts, snorkeling equipment and a variety of
other aquatic items are available to rent. Please call the front
desk for more information.
