13th
ANNUAL LADIES PRO-AM GOLF CLASSIC [PRINTER-FRIENDLY
VERSION]
The Pompano Beach Club will be hosting its 13th Annual Ladies Pro-Am Golf Classic from March 5th – 11th, 2010. The event will be limited to a maximum of eighteen teams consisting of one lady golf professional and three lady amateurs.
Tournament slots will be filled on a first come - first serve basis. All tournament golf rounds will be played at the Robert Trent Jones designed Port Royal Golf Course – located adjacent to the resort. The tournament promises to be a challenging golf experience as well as an enjoyable Bermuda vacation.
Port Royal was closed in 2008 so that it could undergo a major renovation. The Bermuda government invested over 15 million dollars into the course. An elaborate irrigation system has been installed and the greens, fairways and bunkers have all been re-shaped and manicured to perfection. Lots of trees were removed – creating spectacular ocean views on thirteen of the eighteen holes, including every hole on the back nine! The course re-opened this past May and is hosting the PGA’s prestigious Grand Slam event in October 2009 and October 2010.
Joy Bonhurst Smith, teaching pro at Club Golf in Gaithersburg, MD and Bailey Johnson Scheurer, from the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, MD are your tournament directors and hosts. They can assist you if you need help putting together a team.
