The Pompano Beach Club is a golfer’s paradise because the Robert Trent Jones designed Port Royal Golf Course (which has been ranked among the top public golf courses in the world) is right next door. The first tee is only 500 yards from Pompano and many of the resort’s guest rooms have a great view of Port Royal’s oceanfront 8th green.
Tee times at Port Royal can be pre-arranged in advance of your arrival and the resort will transport both you and your clubs to/from the golf course during your stay. The Bermuda government spent close to twenty million dollars improving Port Royal. An elaborate irrigation system was installed – to keep the course lush green all year long – and all the greens, fairways and sand traps were re-shaped. The PGA was so impressed with Port Royal’s enhancements that they decided to hold their prestigious PGA Grand Slam event (which involves the winners of the year’s four major PGA tournaments competing head to head) at Port Royal in October 2009, October 2010, October 2011 and October 2012. Port Royal is situated on some of Bermuda’s most beautiful oceanside terrain. Four holes on the back nine (10, 15, 16 and 18) and three holes on the front nine (7, 8 and 9) offer breathtaking oceanviews, while three additional holes on the back nine (11, 12 and 13) have dramatic views of the Great Sound – so be sure to bring your camera!
Port Royal recently hosted a PGA Tour event, called the "Bermuda Championship", from October 31st thru November 3rd, 2019 and will be hosting this same event over the last weekend in October for the next four years as well. The entire tournament was broadcasted on NBC's Golf Channel.
From now thru March 7, 2020, Pompano guests are able to purchase discounted Port Royal golf course vouchers at the resort's front desk for only $135/person/round (which includes a shared golf cart). The golf course's normal rate is $180/person/round (including a shared cart). Their golf rate for Pompano guests will increase to $160/person/round on March 8, 2019 (which can only be secured by again purchasing a golf voucher at the resort's front desk).
Port Royal also sells golf rounds via the popular GolfNow.com website. Golfers may be able to find even greater discounts on the GolfNow.com website, so it's definitely worth checking the GolfNow.com website first.
